On Saturday, I took a trip to my local ulta because they were having a 5x points offer on NYX cosmetics. However, I didn’t end up buying anything from NYX and only purchased things from Japonesque Color. They were having a great deal on foundation and lip gloss. The velvet touch foundation was $9 (regularly $36) and the Pro Performance Lip Lacquers are $5 each. I picked up the foundation in shade 01 and the lip lacquers in the shades 03,05 and 06.
Before I applied the foundation, my skin was dry and patchy. The color looked a bit dark for my fair skin (NC 15 for reference) but it blends out to match pretty well. This foundation didn’t hide any of my dry patches, but honestly I’ve never found anything that does. It did not emphasis them any and made my skin look flawless with just a quick coat. I would say this is a medium coverage foundation on me. It is heavy enough to hide any imperfections and redness, but it doesn’t look heavy or mask-like. It creates a very airbrushed, flawless finish. I’d have to use it more to decide if it’s truly good for dry skin, but my first impression is that it isn’t worse than any other foundation.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a flawless complexion.
Pro Performance Lip Lacquers:
First off, I hate lip gloss. HATE HATE HATE. Lip glosses doesn’t last, are sticky and just a mess in general. They don’t offer enough pigment and they wipe off so easily! Not these! These are pigmented, not sticky and long lasting. These felt smooth on my lips and left a nice subtle stain when they did wipe off. Are they going to last like a matte lipstick? Of course not, but for a gloss they’re pretty great. The only down-side is the applicator. It’s a brush instead of the normal doe-foot applications (which I prefer). This almost stopped me from purchasing them, but the applicator was better than most and pretty easy to work with.
